On Our Way to the Potters

This afternoon, Person A and I took a leisurely walk to the stoneware potters.

Two dogs were so happy to meet us along the way. They're probably waiting for their owners.

Although I did not get to pick oranges at the orchard, we chanced upon somebody's ponkan tree.I am so tempted to pick the overripe fruits myself, good thing it was high up... beyond my reach.

Beyond the potter's workshop is an authentic Igorot house - the Sagada kind. Never mistake it for the Ifugao type, you will get the locals offended.

The Potter with a perfect English accent. Everyone in Sagada has an excellent command of the English language.

Stoneware for glazing.

Just before sunset, we arrived in the inn and can't help but take a snap of this lilac bloom.

How I wish I took all these photos. Save for the ponkan, all the photos are Person A's.

Another Set of Postcards from the Mountain

Nothing mind blowing today.

Save for my first encounter with a pitcher plant (lots of them, by the way) and some nice photos we snapped while going around.

That's because we got ourselves a LOST GUIDE!

We were lost up in the mountains, in a pine forest while raining.  He doesn't know the way to our destination. I tell you, it's not fun to get lost and your "professional" guide is figuring out every trail you encounter.

Epic fail.

The saving grace was we were in a beautiful surrounding, with autumn colors and wild flowers in different shades of pastels.

After 4 hours of wandering aimlessly, here's our his and hers.

And we are waiting for our couple's massage in the quaint little inn we're staying. Our second in 3 days. The pain in our legs is that worse.

Life is still good and this place is still very beautiful.

Postcards from the Mountain

Cows grazing in the cemetery.

Volleying echos on the hike trail

Rappelling on a stalagmite. That smile hides the panic during the descent. Person A was coaching me which foot to put down and which hand to slide down to the next notch.

My first cup of Alamid (Civet Cat) Coffee. The aroma is that of a very strong espresso. However, it tastes very delicate and fine: not bitter and no acidic undertone. Best enjoyed after a walk in the rain.

The hearth.

I am getting myself warmed by the fire as I type this entry ... because it's freezing cold.

Life is good.
